PURPOSE: An interface apparatus for a USB is provided to directly input/output and/or store IC information stored in an IC card through an interface unit for IC cards in a host and/or apparatus having the universal serial communication function. CONSTITUTION: An interface apparatus(100) for a USB comprises a USB connector(145), a power supply unit(110), a data unit(120), a clock unit(115), a reset unit(125) and an interface unit(130). The USB connector applies predetermined power and one or more data signals through the universal serial communication. The power supply unit drops-out the power applied through the USB connector into power which is available in the IC card. The data unit inputs/outputs the data signals applied through the USB connector to an IC chip. The clock unit oscillates and/or generates a predetermined clock by using the power applied through the USB connector.
