A method of joint utilization of dead nickel-alumina catalysts and waste nitrous gases with extraction of nickel from the dead catalysts into the aqueous solution in the form of nickel nitrate is carried out in one apparatus with partial or complete sinking the stationary layer of dead catalyst into recirculating aqueous solution of nitrates of metals and bubbling through this layer the waste gases, which contain nitrogen oxides, at a temperature of 10÷45 °С.
