A method for controlling regenerative braking of an electric vehicle is provided to offer a safe braking force by preventing change of braking generated in case of the failure of CAN(Controller Area Network) communication. A method for controlling regenerative braking of an electric vehicle includes the steps of: performing the regenerative braking of the electric vehicle; determining normal or failure state of CAN communication between a regenerative braking torque controller and a hydraulic braking torque controller in case of the regenerative braking; and maintaining regenerative braking torque at a level before the failure of CAN communication by the control of the regenerative braking torque controller until the braking is finished and maintaining hydraulic braking torque at a level before the failure of CAN communication by the control of the hydraulic braking torque controller at the same time in case of the failure of CAN communication between the regenerative braking torque controller and the hydraulic braking torque controller. |
