FIELD: metallurgy. ^ SUBSTANCE: machine consists of fixed and movable base with clamps equipped with upper and lower clamping jaws, of welding transformer with contact current supply to lower clamping jaws and of system of jaws cooling of closed cycle with pressure controls and with cooling fluid supply valve. Two lower current conducting jaws are cooled from sides. Supplying and withdrawing lengthwise channels for cooling fluid have length equal to a third of jaw length; diametre of channels diminishes to the centre of jaws; also these channels are connected between them with cross channels of diametres equal to diametres of lengthwise channels. ^ EFFECT: simplification of machine design and upgraded quality of welded butt-seam due to uniform heating of weld seam along length at thermal treatment. ^ 2 dwg
