FIELD: measurement equipment. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention is related to measuring equipment and may be used to detect serviceability of transport vehicle braking system. Method consists in the fact that the second base of reference overload values is introduced for n-initial conditions and wet condition of road, current value is identified, as well as direction of overload at this condition of road, parametre value and overload direction are indicated, initial conditions of overload occurrence are defined at the moment of braking start based on comparison of current speed, mass and forces of pressing against brake pedal with specified values, reference value of overload is selected for these initial conditions and road condition, current value of overload produced at these initial conditions of overload occurrence is compared to reference value, indication is carried out, whenever level of current overload exceeds reference value. Device comprises electrocontact detector, computer, the first unit of signals processing, indicator of overload direction, indicator of overload value, indicator of overload level exceeding, detector of transport vehicle speed, detector of transport vehicle weight and detector of forces acting against braking pedal, setter of constant value, unit of input signals switching, the second unit of signals processing and element OR. ^ EFFECT: expansion of operational resources. ^ 2 cl, 6 dwg
