#CMT# #/CMT# The method involves determining a frequency band of an emitting source (4) of a radiating object (2), and detecting data of local specific absorption rate (SAR) inside a human body phantom (1) by a probe (3). Radiated power data is received by the object simultaneously with the detection of the local SAR data. The power data is transmitted to a power measurement module (6) i.e. power meter, and a power measurement is sent to a processing unit (5). The SAR is determined using the processing unit by processing the local SAR data and the measurement carried out by the module. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a device for measuring specific absorption rate of a human body phantom placed in an electromagnetic field generated by an emitting source of a radiating object. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Method for measuring specific absorption rate of a human body phantom placed in an electromagnetic field generated by an emitting source of a radiating object e.g. global system for mobile communications (GSM), universal mobile telecommunications system (UMTS)or wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi)mobile telephone. Can also be used for Bluetooth, Zigbee, ultra wide band or radio-frequency identification (RFID) based communication object, and base station. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The method determines the specific absorption rate of the phantom when the phantom is exposed to a source that emits a non uniform radiation, or to several sources that simultaneously emit non uniform and uniform radiations, in a precise, rapid and inexpensive manner. #CMT#DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS : #/CMT# The drawing shows a schematic block diagram illustrating a device for measuring specific absorption rate when a phantom is exposed to a non uniform radiation emitted by a single source of an object. 1 : Human body phantom 2 : Radiating object 3 : Probe 4 : Emitting source 5 : Processing unit 6 : Power measurement module #CMT#INDUSTRIAL STANDARDS : #/CMT# The emitting source operates according to global system for mobile communications (GSM) 900, GSM 1800, universal mobile telecommunications system (UMTS), high speed downlink packet access (HSDPA), wireless fidelity (Wi-Fi), Bluetooth, Zigbeeor worldwide interoperability for microwave access (WiMax)standard. |
