PURPOSE: A JIS type strainer for a ship is provided to reduce the additional consumption of raw materials and increase the whole production efficiency using the rest part after processing top flange part of the filter body as bottom part of the filter body. CONSTITUTION: A JIS type strainer for a ship comprises a filter, and a filter body. The filter is composed of a filter body part, a filter top flange part, and a filter bottom part. The filter body part includes a filter hole for filtering the foreign material included in the seawater. The filter top flange part is extended to the outside around the filter edge as connected to the filter edge of the filter body part. The filter top flange part has a penetration hole for fixing the filter. The filter bottom part forms a filter floor as connected to the edge of the filter body part. The filter body is comprised of a body part, an outside flange part, a body top flange part, a body bottom part, and a body covering part. The body part(210) is connected with a conduit connection influx part and a conduit connection outlet part in each side respectively. An outer flange part(222) has a penetration hole for sealing the body which is connected to the body covering part and extended to the outside as connected to the body top edge of the body part. The body top flange part is extended to the inside from the edge of the body top, and comprised of a inner flange part forming a protrusion part which penetrating the penetration hole for filter. The body bottom part forms the floor of the filter body connected to the body bottom edge of the body portion.
