The device has two multi-disk couplers (2) each include a central hub (6), and a displacement control fork (9) for controlling a displacement of two sets of lower and upper disks (7, 8) between opening and coupling positions. Return units i.e. springs, return the disks towards their opening position, where the disks are distributed in two sets of disks on upper and lower levels. An intermediate piston (12) receives pressure of the lower disks, and transmits the pressure to the upper disks. Certain disks of one of two disk sets are connected to the central hub.
