<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching power supply device which improves reliability of the device with a relatively simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: Operations of switching circuits 11, 41 or the like are controlled so that predetermined pre-charging is performed to a capacitor C3 from a main battery 10 according to a charging amount in the capacitor C3 before actual charging is performed to the main battery 10 on the basis of AC input voltages Vacin when charging the main battery 10 on the basis of the AC input voltages Vacin input from input terminals T5, T6.
