<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an original conveyance apparatus capable of efficiently performing a jam processing operation for an original while preventing components, such as the jamming original, conveyor rollers and a conveyance driving mechanism, from breaking by exposing a complexly constituted document conveyance path up to as an inner portion as possible. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The original conveyance apparatus 20 includes: a first document conveyance path 32 for conveying an original from an original placement tray 21 to an original read unit 33; a third original conveyance path 44 for conveying the original halfway from a second original conveyance path 34 to an original inversion unit 36; a fourth original conveyance path 51 for sending the original in the first original conveyance path 32 again from the original inversion unit 36; an exterior cover 24 having a conveyance guide constituting the first original conveyance path 32 and exposing the first original conveyance path 32 by opening it; and a guide unit 25 having a conveyance guide constituting the third original conveyance path 44 and the fourth original conveyance path 51 and exposing nearly the entire area of the third original conveyance path 44 and the fourth original conveyance path 51 by opening it.
