PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct variations of light quantity, which a laser outputs, with simple composition. SOLUTION: When a position-detecting device 209 detects that the position of a spot on a projection surface 230 indicates a nonprojection area, the correlation between the laser light quantity detected by a light-receiving part 204 and the level of a laser driving signal which conforms to prescribed data is detected, and a laser-detection characteristic value which the detected correlation indicates is compared with a preliminarily stored normal temperature characteristic value which indicates the correlation between a light quantity of the laser at a normal temperature and the level of the driving signal. On the basis of the result of the comparison, the level of the laser driving signal, which conforms to image data, is corrected. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
