<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a POS terminal device capable of preventing fraudulent register operation without accompanying a deterioration in a service to customers. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The POS terminal device has a human detection sensor 150 for detecting the existence/absence of a customer near the POS terminal device. Operation permission information stored in a permission information storing means 130 defines the permission/rejection of performing a plurality of register operations in each operator identification information and each existence/absence of a customer. An operation permission determining means 110 reads inputted operator identification information and operation permission information about the existence/absence of a customer detected by the human detection sensor 150 from the permission information storing means 130 and determines the permission/rejection of a requested register operation on the basis of the operation permission information.
