Disclosed is an input device which has excellent operability and provides a desired operation touch. The input device is provided with a base (2); a case (4), which is cylindrical, mounted on the base (2) and has a plurality of arm sections (24) each of which has, on an inner surface, a pressing section (25) which is elastically deformable and can be pressed; an operating member (5) arranged on the base (2) so that the operating member can be operated to rock; a detecting member (3), which is arranged in a region surrounded by the case (4), and is provided with a first detecting section (17b) for detecting pressing operation of the pressing section (25) and a second detecting section (20) for detecting rocking operation performed by the operating member (5).
