<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve gas diffusivity of a cathode catalyst layer to raise a cell voltage. <P>SOLUTION: This membrane-electrode assembly 50 includes: a solid-state polymer electrolyte membrane 20, an anode 22 and a cathode 24. The anode 22 has a layered product comprising a catalyst layer 30 and a gas diffusion layer 32. The catalyst layer 30 has platinum-cobalt supporting carbon particles and an ion conductor. In the catalyst layer 30, a ratio (P2/P1) of pore capacity P2 (ml/g) per 1g of the catalyst layer regarding a second micropore diameter ≥0.1 μm and <1 μm to pore capacity P1 (ml/g) per 1g of the catalyst layer regarding a first micropore diameter ≥0.01 μm and <1 μm is set to 3.8-8.3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
