PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic filter with a high capturing rate of fine particles whose particle size is 1 μm or less.

SOLUTION: The ceramic filter is a sintered body in which silicon carbide crystal particles configuring porous structure are connected by a neck part, and a nanotube layer having a plurality of nanotubes erected from an SiC surface is formed. It is preferable that the length direction of the nanotube is roughly vertical to the SiC surface. Also, it is preferable that the length of the nanotube is 1 to 3 μm.
