<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable displaying a normal image of the live tissue surface in a surgical operation, together with an image of the blood vessels present till a prescribed depth from the tissue surface, so that these images can be piled up on top of the other. <P>SOLUTION: Exciting light and visible light in the range of specified wavelengths are alternately irradiated to a subject to whom an angiographic contrast agent has been administered in order for an imaging means to alternately obtain a fluorescent image irradiated with the exciting light and a normal image of the tissue for surgical operation. The resulting fluorescent image is treated with a specified threshold value to extract a blood vessel image, and then a composite image is prepared by placing the extracted blood vessel image on top of the resulting normal image of the tissue. The composite image thus obtained is displayed as an animation. This composite image will enable a physician to observe both of the live tissue surface for surgical operation and the blood vessels present till its prescribed depth from its surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
