<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a burner for fabricating an optical fiber preform capable of suppressing the adhesion and deposition of glass particles to the burner front end without enlarging the burner diameter. <P>SOLUTION: The burner includes a first tube 10 provided with a front end 10t configured to define a glass raw material port PA for ejecting a glass raw material gas, a second tube 20 provided with a front end 20t configured to define a sealing gas port PB for ejecting a sealing gas together with the front end 10t, a third tube 30 provided with a front end 30t configured to define a burnable gas port PC for ejecting a burnable gas together with the front end 20t, and a plurality of small diameter nozzles 40 arranged in a space formed between the second tube 20 and the third tube 30; each of the nozzles having a front end 40t configured to define a combustion assisting gas port PD for ejecting a combustion assisting gas. The front end 20t protrudes ahead of the front end 10t in a gas ejecting direction, and the front end 30t protrudes ahead of the front end 20t and the front end 40t in a gas ejecting direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
