PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an environmentally friendly aliphatic nonionic surfactant, having an excellent surface activity equivalent to those of aromatic type nonionic surfactants, capable of exhibiting an emulsifying activity with excellent stability over time and excellent in general purpose uses. SOLUTION: This polyglycerol alkyl ether type nonionic surfactant consisting of the polyglycerol alkyl ether is provided by having the≥75 wt.% content of the polyglycerol monoalkyl ether and≤5 wt.% content of polyglycerol dialkyl ether.
