<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic timepiece with a solar cell of which dial is firmly fixed, which can display the right time even if the timepiece has an impact, and in which the timepiece does not stop. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This electronic timepiece comprises the dial 3 for displaying time, the solar cell 1 of which light receiving side is arranged to be approximately orthogonal to the surface of the dial 3, and a timepiece movement which is driven by output energy from the solar cell 1. A dial holding member 4 on which a plurality of rising parts 4a holding the outer periphery of the dial 3 are formed is provided to the timepiece movement, and the dial holding member 4 is arranged between the dial 3 and the timepiece movement. Thereby, even if an impact load in the horizontal direction is applied to the dial 3, the dial 3 can be firmly held by the dial holding member 4, and displacement of the dial 3 is prevented, thus displaying the right time and preventing deformation of a hand fixing shaft and stopping of the timepiece.
