<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quality control method for an iron steel product where, in continuous casting, the molten layer thickness of mold powder within a mold and a molten steel level are measured, and, based on the information, operational conditions such as treatment conditions and inspection conditions in the following stages are optimized. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A molten powder thickness within a mold of a continuous casting machine is measured, and, operating conditions and/or product specifications in the step on and after a continuous casting step are decided based on the molten powder thickness.
