<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the visibility of an image object formed inside the flat color region when applying treatment for reducing the consumption of a print recording material to the flat color region. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus includes: a color conversion table 25 for storing drawing relation information defining the drawing relation of the flat color region where the consumption of the print recording material can be reduced and the image object for each color relation of the flat color region and the image object formed in the flat color region; a drawing conversion method determination method for determining the drawing conversion method of the flat color region and the image object respectively according to the color relation of the flat color region and the image object by referring to the drawing relation information when the image object is formed in the flat color region extracted from the image of a print object by a flat color region extraction part 22; and a drawing conversion part 27 for image-converting the flat color region and the image object included in the image of the print object according to the determined drawing conversion method.
