<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermostat for controlling the inside temperature of a refrigerator or the like, wherein reduction of the number of components and facilitation of assembly of a compulsive switch-off mechanism portion in a main circuit and an auxiliary circuit are achieved. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An opening and closing switch 14 to constitute a main circuit is compulsorily switched off by rotating a lever 4 by rotation of a cam plate 22 when a cam arm 6 moves a prescribed distance or more and also an auxiliary switch 18 to constitute an auxiliary circuit is compulsorily switched off by an insulating arm provided in the cam arm. Accordingly, compulsive switch-off operation of the main circuit and the auxiliary circuit can be made by one cam plate 22, and further, the insulation arm 5, a fixed contact plate 12, and a terminal portion 17 can form a compulsive switch-off structure of the auxiliary circuit, thus a thermostat with few number of component and easy assembly can be provided at low cost.
