<p>The present invention provides rail vehicle interior compartment cooling arrangement (10), the cooling arrangement (10) including a duct (16) having an inlet (22), and an outlet (28) communicable with the interior of the rail vehicle, the cooling arrangement (10) further including a fan (18) operable to draw air into the duct through the inlet (22) and out of the outlet (28), a thermoelectric heat pump device (34) provided in the duct (16) between the inlet (22) and outlet (28) and operable to cool air passing through the duct (16), wherein the thermoelectric heat pump device (34) is provided in conductive thermal communication with the body (32) of the rail vehicle so as to dissipate heat generated by the operation of the thermoelectric heat pump device (34) into the body (32) of the rail vehicle.</p> |
