The present invention relates to an improved automated locking door system f or hands free operation of a lockable restroom door that: i) allows the users to enter and leave without touching the door; ii) locks and unlocks the door automatically; iii) provides visual reassurance to the user that the door is locked while they are in the restroom; iv) provides visual indication to a person outside the restroom that the facility is vacant or occupied; and v) has a manual key switch entry override and a manual panic exit button. The system provides a controller in communication with each of an automatic door operator, an electric strike mechanism for locking and unlocking the door, a motion detector for detecting a presence of a user, the Occupied Light Sign, the Vacant Light Sign and a Locked Sign. A touch-less sensor in communication with the controller can be actuated to activate the automatic door operator to open the door for entry, and, when the user's presence is detected in the restroom by the motion detector, the motion detector activates the electric strike mechanism to loc k the door, and the Occupied Light Sign is lit. When the user vacates the restroom, the Vacant Light Sign is lit by the controller. |
