PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an osteogenesis accelerator which acts to promote osteogenesis and inhibit bone resorption.

SOLUTION: The osteogenesis promoter includes oleuropein and/or hydroxytyrosol as an active ingredient and a pharmaceutical composition includes this osteogenesis promoter as an active ingredient. Further, the oleuropein and/or hydroxytyrosol is used for producing the osteogenesis promoter. Furthermore, a food composition includes oleuropein and designates that it is to be used for improving osteodystrophy and bone metabolic disorders.
