PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state image pickup element obtaining a high-quality image while preventing color mixture and compatible with an optical system having a larger incident angle around a pixel.

SOLUTION: The solid-state image pickup element includes: a photoelectric conversion section PD for converting light incident through a first surface of a substrate 10 into signal charges and storing the signal charges; a transistor Tr formed on a second surface opposite to the first surface of the substrate and reading the signal charges stored in the photoelectric conversion section; a supporting substrate 15 stuck on the second surface of the substrate; a reflection preventing film 17 formed on the first surface of the substrate. The first surface of the substrate includes a curved surface or an inclined surface A2 forming a predetermined angle with respect to the second surface.
