<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission type display can obtain better transmissibility. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The transmission type display includes: a first substrate on which a plurality of first electrode plates are provided on the upper surface of the substrate; and a second substrate on which a plurality of second electrode plates are provided on the lower surface of the substrate. The plurality of first electrode plates and the plurality of second electrode plates are arranged crossing each other for forming a plurality of overlapping regions, and a pixel region for each overlapping region is defined, and at least an electroluminescent region is arranged for each overlapping region. The transmissivity for each pixel region is within the prescribed range.
