PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a white heat-shrinkable polyester film good in perforation opening properties and has light cutting properties, and its production method of high in productivity. SOLUTION: The white heat-shrinkable polyester film contains a polyester resin containing ethylene terephthalate as a main component and at least 13 mol.% of at least one monomeric component which can be an amorphous component in all the components of the polyester resin and has specific thermal shrinkage characteristics, dynamic characteristics, whiteness, etc. The method for producing the polyester film and a package using the film are also disclosed.
