<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scroll compressor reducing a discharge amount of oil to be discharged from a discharge pipe by smoothly collecting oil stored in a periphery on a motor element into an oil sump therebelow by the rotation of the motor shaft. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A motor shaft 20, and a scroll compression element 10 to be driven by the motor element 20 are stored in a vertical sealed paper sheet 2. A scroll compressor 1 is provided, which compresses refrigerant sucked from a suction pipe 51 fitted to an end cap 4A constituting the sealed container 2 by the scroll compression element 10, and discharges the refrigerant from a discharge pipe 50 fitted to a container body 4 constituting the sealed container 2. There are provided: a partitioning means for partitioning the sealed container 2 into a space including an oil sump and a space thereabove; and a communication part 66 formed in the partitioning means.
