<p>A direct view display device (100a) comprises: a display panel (10) having a display region (31) and a frame region (30) formed outside the display region; and a light guide element (21A) having an incidence plane (21a), an emission plane (21b), and a plurality of light guide paths formed between the incidence plane and the emission plane. The incidence plane of the light guide element overlaps part (32) of a peripheral display region adjacent to the frame region of the display panel along a first axis and is disposed in parallel with the surface of the display panel. The emission plane (21b) of the light guide element increases in distance from the incidence plane (21a) from the part (32) of the peripheral display region toward the frame region (30) along the first axis and is extended to a position overlapped with the frame region (30). This provides a direct view display device in which the frame region of a display panel or seams when being tiled is hardly visible with a simpler and lighter structure than the conventional structure.</p> |
