PURPOSE: A system for setting a screen of a monitor and a control method thereof are provided to grasp and control resolution in a monitor through communication between a computer and a monitor, thereby quickly easily changing resolution. CONSTITUTION: A system for setting a screen of a monitor(200) and a control method thereof comprise the following steps. It is determined whether a resolution change from the second resolution to the first resolution is generated from a computer(100). Error information due to the resolution change is displayed. It is determined whether a change request signal to the first resolution is inputted from a user. The change request signal to the first resolution is transmitted from the computer. A signal corresponding to the transmitted signal to change the second resolution to the first resolution.
