<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the technology for preventing the occurrence of blurring in the direction of main scanning caused in a build up part of concentration value in the direction of main scanning and correcting difference in concentration between the direction of main scanning and the direction of auxiliary scanning. <P>SOLUTION: This light amount correction method includes an output gradation value conversion step of converting a picture element value of image data into an output gradation value, a build up detection step of detecting a build up when an output gradation value of a dot on the downstream side in the direction of main scanning among adjacent dots in the direction of main scanning of output gradation value is larger than an output gradation value of the dot on the upstream side by the predetermined value or more, a correction amount computing step of computing a build up amount when the build up is detected by the build up detection step and computing build up correction amount based on the build up amount and coefficient of correction corresponding to the build up amount, a correction step of adding the build up correction amount to the output gradation value of the dot immediately after the build up is detected, and a light amount control step of controlling amount of light of laser beams in accordance with the output gradation values. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
