<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shift gears to a higher speed, while restraining electric power consumption of an electric oil pump for supplying a hydraulic fluid for shifting, when towing a vehicle having a continuously variable transmission. Ž<P>SOLUTION: An ECU supplies oil to a primary hydraulic chamber by driving the electric oil pump for an initial driving time (S104), when starting towing (YES in S102), in a towing possible state of the vehicle (YES in S100), and starts time counting (S108) after stopping the vehicle (YES in S106), and detects a vehicle stopping time T (S114), when resuming the towing (YES in S112), and drives the electric oil pump (S118) for time corresponding to the vehicle stopping time T, when the vehicle stopping time T is longer than a predetermined time T(1) (YES in S116).
