<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deterioration of the durability of a second transmission part on gear shift, in a controller of a vehicle driving device, which is provided with: a first transmission part connected to a driving source (engine); and a second transmission part, which constitutes a part of a power transmission route of the rear stage side of the first transmission part, and in which a comprehensive transmission ratio between the driving source and an output shaft of the driving device is set by the transmission ratio of those two transmission parts. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The gear change speed of a variable transmission part is suppressed to an allowable value (limit value) or lower, by increasing the rising speed of the engine revolutions Ne by operating a first electric motor MG1 when the variable transmission part (the second transmission part) is shifted down to increase engine revolutions quickly on kick down by stepping down an accelerator, for instance.
