<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a high-quality image by preventing contraction deformation of the image caused by heating drying. <P>SOLUTION: A processing liquid containing a component which agglomerates a coloring material is given to a medium P by a processing liquid giving means 12. Droplets of ink containing the coloring material and thermoplastic resin particles in a solvent are struck by an ink droplet striking means 14 onto a medium P to which the processing liquid is given. An ink film on the medium P is heated and dried by an ink drying means 15.
