PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a target body surveying device for discriminating surely whether one magnetic body which is the target body exists or two or more magnetic bodies exist, in a measuring time. SOLUTION: Triaxial magnetic field values Bx(t), By(t), Bz(t) are measured and stored in the order of time, from the point of time t=t0 when a signal higher than a fixed level is measured to the point of time t0+Δt when a signal lower than the fixed level is measured after start of triaxial magnetism measurement, and a triaxial synthetic value Bt(t) is calculated from the triaxial magnetic field values Bx(t), By(t), Bz(t) and stored (ST1-ST7). Then, the number n of peaks in waveform data of the triaxial synthetic value Bt during the timeΔt is counted (ST8), and it is determined whether the number of peaks is one or two or more (ST9). In the case of n=1, it is determined that the waveform is caused by one moment, and in the case of n=2 or more, it is determined that the waveform is caused by two or more moments (ST10, ST11).
