Ž<P>SOLUTION: In a motor-driven turbocharger 3 interposed in an intake passage 1 of an internal combustion engine 9, when the operational state of the internal combustion engine is changed from the non-supercharging range to a supercharging range, a target supercharging pressure and a requested intake air volume of the internal combustion engine 9, and the target number of rotation of a motor 31, are calculated based on the information from a load sensor 7 and a sensor 13 for the number of rotation. The rotation of the motor 31 is controlled so as to reach the target number of rotation, and the operation of a throttle valve 4 is controlled so that the actual air intake is matched with the requested air intake for a predetermined time after the operational state of the internal combustion engine is transferred from the non-supercharging range to the supercharging range.
