<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compression connection method of a compression sleeve with a cable having a tube body used as a stopper as well which is used for a straight line connection of an overhead transmission cable, wherein a friction force is increased and a tensile strength per a unit compression length is enhanced and workability is excellent. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The compression sleeve is composed of a metal pipe having a barrier rib portion in a center, and a predetermined amount of a compound is poured in a bottom portion of the barrier rib portion, and a tube body used as a stopper which has a smaller outside diameter than an inside diameter of the compression sleeve and has a predetermined length is pushed in and embedded in the compound, and a core wire of an insulative coated cable is inserted from a side of an open end of the compression sleeve, and an end surface of the core wire abuts on the open end side portion of the tube body, and then, while the open end portion of the compression sleeve is temporarily compressed and the core wire is fixed temporarily with the compression sleeve, a compression connection is conducted from a center of the compression sleeve toward a side of the open end portion, and the compound is forcibly poured into a gap between the compression sleeve and the cable and an opening gap in a stranded portion of the cables.
