METHOD FOR PRODUCING COMPOSITE MATERIAL

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for uniformly mixing and dispersing without damaging a higher-order structure of coil-shaped carbon fiber in an unmelted state as in such a case that the coil-shaped carbon fiber is mixed into an elastic material precursor and for effectively removing bubbles originally included in the coil-shaped carbon fiber and foams generated in mixing. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a composite material comprising coil-shaped carbon fiber which is fixed within an elastic material is provided by filling a mixture into a desired mold and hardening the mixture, wherein the mixture is obtained by adding the coil-shaped carbon fiber to an elastic material precursor in a vessel so that the ratio of the coil-shaped fiber is 1.0 to 20.0 wt.%, mixing within 15 seconds while the vessel is made to perform a rotating motion and an orbital motion, and further mixing for 30 seconds to 5 minutes under the vacuum of 0.1 to 50 kPa.
