Production of small entirely round glass spheres having a diameter of 0.15-0.5 mm comprises setting a horizontal particle stream of almost spherical accumulations of melts apart from thin fiber residues at uniform distances rising by an angle of up to 30[deg] produced by a striking frequency (f) and having a speed of 100-150 m/s to a value (a/d.f = tK = 21-27 mu s), in which tK is a time constant, a is the distance, d is the sphere diameter and f is the striking frequency, and guiding through the core region of a flame burning with a temperature of 2100[deg] C for at least 10 ms after removing the striking wheel and a flying time of not more than 10 ms.
|
