A plurality of electrode sections for applying electric field to an electro-optic crystal are provided in the electro-optic crystal, and each electrode section is provided with a plurality of linear electrodes arranged in parallel to each other. The linear electrodes are arranged such that the longitudinal directions thereof match and that an electrode surfaces configured by the linear electrodes are parallel to each other. Among the electrode sections, between the adjacent electrode sections, a distance between the adjacent electrode sections is set so that primary diffracted light generated when incoming light passes between linear electrodes of one electrode section (13a, 13b) passes between the linear electrodes of the other electrode section (14a, 14b).
