A method of assigning a worth to a telephone number, the method comprising the steps of determining a value for at least one characteristic of the telephone number; and assigning a worth to the telephone number based on the at least one characteristic value; and translation logic arranged to be executed by signal processing logic, the translation logic being further arranged to receive at least one character representative of a letter of an alphabet; and translate the received character representative of a letter of an alphabet into a numerical character with which the received character representative of a letter is traditionally associated with on a telephone keypad.
