<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antitumor agent effective against leukemia which is developed in a wide range of ages from infants to elderly, has no known cause, is accompanied by appearance of tumor cells even in blood as the disease progresses and has a high mortality in spite of advance in chemotherapy or therapies imposing burden to patient's body such as bone marrow transplantation. <P>SOLUTION: (1) The antitumor agent comprises siphonaxanthin as an active ingredient.
