<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device for reducing color shift generated in an oblique direction in black display. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device comprises a liquid crystal element, a pair of polarizers 20, 21, and a pair of view angle compensation films F1, F2. An average tilt angle θ° of liquid crystal molecules when a voltage for displaying black is applied between electrodes of the liquid crystal element satisfies 60<θ<90.
