PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of increasing the number of successive prints when consecutively photographing a moving object which moves at a high speed and is substantially constant in the course of its movement as a subject. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus includes: a first distance measuring means for measuring the distance of a first subject a plurality of times; a correlation storage means for storing correlation information indicating a correlation between distance measurement information and time information relating to the distance measurement information based on the result of the distance of the first subject; a focus information creating means for creating at least one focus information which is a combination of information acquired during the focus with focus lens position information indicating the position of an imaging lens during the focus for the first subject based on the correlation information ; and a focus adjustment control means for controlling focus adjustment for a second subject based on the focus information.
