PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent ceasing of deceleration due to a condition wherein the braking force by a manual brake operated by a driver gets smaller than the braking force by an automatic brake in the case wherein a braking force control device, which comprises a manual braking means and an automatic braking means, selects the automatic brake for execution during the manual braking operation, and to realize quick braking by reducing the quantity of reduction of the braking force requested by the automatic brake so as to remarkably increase the braking force by the automatic brake in comparison with the braking force by the manual brake in the case wherein a time change rate of braking force difference between the manual brake and the automatic brake is large. SOLUTION: Braking force by a manual brake and braking force requested by an automatic brake are compared with each other. When the requested braking force is larger, the automatic brake is selectively operated to obtain a braking force difference time change rate as the quantity of change per unit time of a value, which is obtained by subtracting the braking force requested by the automatic brake from the braking force by the manual brake, is obtained, and the braking force requested by the automatic brake is reduced, and the quantity of reduction of the requested braking force is set smaller as the obtained braking force difference time change rate becomes larger.
