<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an axial flow type compressor capable of further reducing the flow rate of a leak flow by forming a new shape slot on an inner wall of a casing. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The inner wall of a casing 10 extends in a circumference direction of a rotary shaft so as to surround a blade tip 30 of a moving blade 20 arranged at an outer circumference of a rotor in the axial flow type compressor. Bottomed slots 50 are arranged in a circumference direction of the rotary shaft on the inner wall of the casing 10. The slot 50 includes a chord direction groove part 54 extending in a chord direction along a chord of the blade tip 30 in such a manner that the same can oppose to at least a leading edge 22 side of the blade tip 30, a front side groove part 52 extending in an axial direction front side of the rotary shaft from an end 53 at the leading edge 22 side of the chord direction groove part 54, and an antinode surface side groove part 26 extending with keeping angles with the chord direction to an antinode surface 24 side from the tip 55 at a trailing edge 28 side of the chord direction groove part 54.
