<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase excitement and enjoyment along with higher informing effects in a slot machine which executes a game accompanying the variable display of a plurality of reels when the starting operation is made by a player and controls to stop the plurality of reels based on the results of random numbers extracted by the execution of the game when the stop operation is made by the player. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The slot machine includes: a valid standby time delay means (game controller 50) which delays the standby time up to the validation of the stop operation after the starting operation from a prescribed time; and a variable display control means (game controller 50) which can select and control one variable display of a plurality of reels 6 out of a plurality of variable display modes based on the result of the extraction of random numbers in the standby time delayed by the valid standby time delay means.
