The shining symbol is made of a basic symbol (2) and is composed of an extension symbol (3), where the extension symbol partly surrounds the neighboring basic symbol. The trigger equipment begins as a function of a rising danger degree that controls the basic symbol and the extension symbol for lighting. An independent claim is included for a method for optical warning signaling for use in a motor vehicle.
