The device (4) has high performance-LED-modules (5) and LEDs (6) provided with respective primary radiation directions, which are arranged perpendicular to each other. The LEDs emit different colors e.g. red, green and blue, where the radiation directions are different from each other. The LEDs are attached to a lateral surface of the device, where radiation intensity of the high performance-LED-module is larger than radiation intensity of the LEDs. One of the radiation directions lies parallel to a longitudinal axis of a cylinder. An independent claim is also included for a lamp including a carrier for receiving a lighting device.
